Finding Feel

Allan’s mission is to help horses and their handlers become confident and competent. Once we ensure that the relationship is one of respect rather than fear, we can become the leader that horses believe in and trust to follow into the unknown. His mentor was Ray Hunt, and Allan shares the commitment to finding "feel" and putting the horse first - following Ray's example and studying the teachings of the Dorrance brothers.

Clear and respectful boundaries set the stage for the horse’s potential to be developed, making things easier for the horse and rider. A troubled horse is unable to learn. A troubled rider can be frustrated and unable to consider different tools to get the job done. Remove the trouble, and the horse and rider will both be happier.

The video series below shows Festus being saddled and ridden for the first time.
